Ladakh Trek
This is a stunning trek through the magical Buddhist kingdom of Ladakh, passing charming villages and monasteries, and offering magnificent views of the Himalayas including the highest peak Stok Kangri at 6100m, Karakoram and the rugged Zanskar range. Our trek passes through the Hemis National Park and we may even see Bharal (blue sheep), Snow Leopard and Golden Eagles circling above. In the far-flung northern reaches of India, Ladakh is one of the most remote and sparsely populated regions on earth. Bordered by Tibet, it is often described as the “roof of the world” and has an almost moon like terrain, girdled by some of the greatest mountain ranges of the world. The capital Leh was developed as a trading post and market, attracting a wide variety of merchants from Yarkend, Kashgar, Kashmir, Tibet and Norh India. Tea, salt, household articles, wool, and semi precious stones were all traded in the market. The 16th Century Leh Palace looms above the city and is often compared as Lhasa’s Potala Palace. |
| Shivling Extreme Climb Lead by Simon Yates of 'Touching the Void' fame. The stunning peak of Shivling (6,543m) lies at the heart of the Gangotri region of Uttar Pradesh in India. Widely acclaimed by mountaineers as the world's most beautiful mountain, it is also coveted by Hindus as the home of Shiva - one of their most important gods. The source of the Ganges is just a few miles from the base of the peak at the snout of the Gangotri Glacier. The surrounding peaks - the Bhagirathis, Kedarnath Dome, Thalay Sagar and Meru, to name just a few, are equally impressive. A finer collection of mountains cannot be found anywhere. |

An exhilarating 4 days' cycling starts from Bhandavgarh Tiger Reserve, traversing the highlands of central Indian range. Crossing some of India’s most beautiful and least spoilt valleys, we will ride through rolling hills and the homelands of nomadic and tribal people, through river courses across fertile plains dotted with small villages and hand cultivated fields, before entering a thick Sal and Bamboo forest of Khanna National Park, which offers stunning game viewing by jeep and elephant.
