As well as its river-dwelling creatures, Liwonde is known for its large elephant population. You'll also see plenty of antelope species (including sables, impalas, bushbucks and kudus) and warthog. If you're lucky you might even spot a lion or leopard. There's also a rhino-breeding programme close to Mvuu Camp.

Malawi Multi Activity Charity Challenge
Our multi activity challenge will take you through the best of what Malawi has to offer, based around Lake Malawi with its panoramic views, and the stunning Cape Maclear peninsula. Lake Malawi is the 3rd largest body of water in Africa and is enclosed by the sheer walls of the Rift Valley escarpment. It has been described as the most beautiful lake in all of Africa. As a reward for completing the challenge we finish with a game drive through Liwonde National Park for a full day of game viewing. |
