|
Our Nepal charity challenges offer the chance to explore not only the side street markets of Kathmandu but also the remote villages of the Everest and Annapurna regions, away from the busy main trails and in areas where few groups venture. |
'Fantastic photo opportunities await. From stunning views of Machhapuchhre, the 'Fishtail' Mountain, to those of smiling Nepalese villagers welcoming you into their villages. Contrast the tranquil mountain idyll with the exotic bustle of Kathmandu'...taken from Across the Divide Expedition Leader's charity trek report.

Nepal Pike Peak Charity Trek
The Pike Peak trek takes those of you prepared for the challenge through one of the most beautiful, remote parts of the Himalayas. Your route is off the tourist track, and allows access to hidden monasteries and a chance to experience some of the renowned Nepali hospitality and culture. |
The Everest Base Camp Charity Trek This is your ultimate trekking challenge following in the footsteps of Hillary and Tensing Norgay, into the region where traditionally base camps have been erected for expeditions attempting to summit Everest. With Across the Divide's famous standards for safety and group management, this challenge will provide you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fundraise for your charity. The trek follows the main route up to Base Camp and passes through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. Everest becomes visible from just above Namche Bazaar and as we move through an ever changing environment and leave the tree line behind, the views of the mountains become more pronounced The mountains are spectacular, with Ama Dablam dominating the early trekking days. The four 8000m peaks of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu will be visible. This trek hike will also take you to Chukhung where there are breathtaking views of Island Peak, as well as the tremendous Lhotse and Ama Dablam Glaciers. | Climbing Ana Dablam - an extreme challenge
Led by Simon Yates of 'Touching the Void' fame. This stunning 6856m peak lies in the Upper Khumbu region . It is a fantastic mountaineering objective and is situated amongst some of the world's best known and most spectacular mountain scenery. We climb the mountain by the classic South West Ridge route - a long and elegant rock and mixed ridge that leads up to the summit snow slopes. The objective dangers for a mountain of this size are minimal there is no glacier to negotiate and virtually no danger from avalanche or rock fall. The views of the Lhotse/Nuptse wall, Everest, Pumori, Cho Oyu , Makalu and many other fine peaks are simply superb. The most technially difficult sections of this climb will be fixed with rope, but it is physically demanding with long days and sections with a lot of exposure. Contact us for further details. We are also able to offer ascents of Mera Peak and Pumori |

Nepal Project
This trip manages to take things further, creating an oppotunity for you to take part in a local community project. By participating you will be enriching the lives of the local community and children who live in this beautiful, but poor, region of the Himalayas. Our project site is located in the Bhote Koshi River Valley which carves a path from Tibet through the mighty Himalayas. Our project mission will include building and refurbishment work at the Sukute Primary School which teaches some of the poorest communities of Nepal. The main goal will be to secure a fresh water supply for the school, lay piping and build toilet facilities. |

Other highlights include:
Trek to Everest Base Camp. Trek Gokyo Rei - the other Everest. If it's drop-dead gorgeous mountain scenery that you are really after, then give Everest and its crowds a miss and head up to Gokyo, situated in a glacial valley at 15,574 feet (4,747 meters). Not only do you get enough mountain views to use up all the film you brought on your trip, but as you approach Gokyo you'll pass three bewitching little lakes of the most impossible shades of blue you've ever seen. And if the views from the valley aren't good enough, drag yourself up to the top of 17,990-foot (5,483-meter) Gokyo Ri, which rises above the lodges and pastures of Gokyo, for one of the finest panoramas in the Himalayas. |
